I was born in Morgantown while my father was finishing up dental school. He moved to Petersburg before I had any memory of Morgantown. We lived on Welton Orchard road for a few years and then built and moved to the home place in Arthur. I lived there with my 5 siblings and my parents. We're a pretty close family and almost everybody knows at least one of us; most likely my dad who has been a family dentist in Petersburg since we moved here in the late 70s. I attended PES and PHS and graduated in 1994. I was on the basketball team and sang in the choir. I also had a small chess club going for 2 or 3 years. After high school, I attended Potomac State College for 3 semesters. I then went on a mission for my church to the Cordoba, Argentina area for 2 years. Upon returning from my mission I attended BYU for a summer session and one semester where I met and married my wife. We returned to WV and I finished up college at WVU. I found work at Morgantown and we lived there for a few years. After a couple of employers I found work as a programmer that I could do from home. Because with my current employment I could live anywhere, when our house became too small we moved back to the Petersburg area, where we now reside. We have 5 children, 4 of whom are attending PES. We're active in our church and Karnsy volunteers at the food pantry. I've always felt a strong connection to this area as my roots run deep in the families that settled in the tri-counties. I have fond memories of my childhood and I wanted to provide similar opportunities for my kids.
